Ragdoll
History
It
is believed that the Ragdoll breed originated in Riverside, California
by a women named Ann Baker. In the 1960's Ann bred a white-long haired
cat named Josephine, with a seal point mitted male named, Daddy Warbucks.
The kittens were so large and beautiful, with such a sweet temperament,
that Ann decided to start her own breeding program.
However, in the mid 1960's
several breeders could not follow Ann's difficult rules. They broke away from
her organization and made their own set of standards. Ragdoll are accepted in
the major registries.
What we have today is
a beautiful, gentle breed and one big lap cat!
